Oscar Williams Jr. writes spiritual lyrics and uplifting melodies that speak to audiences of all cultures, ethnicities and ages. Williams’s music offers antidotes to life’s difficulties reminding audiences of the good things in life. He is inspired by a variety of sources, ranging from renowned musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Joseph Joubert, Richard Smallwood and John Williams to the enthusiasm of spectators tapping their feet and humming. He released Unstoppable, his first album, in 2005 on Aleho/Warner/Ryko Records and has written and produced for such artist as: Tamela Mann, Smokie Norful, Karen Clark-Sheard, Bishop TD Jakes and the Potters House Choir and the stellar nominated “We Offer Praise” project from Shalom City of Peace. He has toured extensively throughout Jamaica, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, Austria and Central and South America. Williams received a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Missouri-St Louis and a Masters in Music degree from the Southern Methodist University. Oscar currently holds several positions both in the education world and in the entertainment world.
These are just a few of Oscar’s activities and involvements. He is currently working on a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from Dallas Baptist University as well as finishing his sophomore gospel project entitled, “Speak Life”.
