Dr. Lisa Marie Bowens is an Assistant Professor of New Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary. She holds a BS Degree in Business Education and Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and four Masters Degrees: one in Business Education, another in Library & Information studies, two Theological Degrees (M.T.S. and Th.M.) from Duke University Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. Her research and teaching focus on the Pauline epistles, discipleship in the Gospels, African American Pauline Hermeneutics, and New Testament exegesis and interpretation. Her recently published book, An Apostle in Battle: Paul and Spiritual Warfare in 2 Corinthians 12:1-10, is a revision of her dissertation. A lover of God and of learning, Dr. Bowens’ interests include traveling, reading, listening to Gospel music, and watching classic movies and television shows.
