United MegaCare has been fighting hunger since 1997 and we are going to bring our fight to Tampa! The state of Florida is the fourth in the nation for family hunger and we clearly see that we have an opportunity to serve the city of Tampa, in a greater way and with greater impact. There are 282,404 families struggling to feed themselves in Tampa; in the great state of Florida 2,871,650 people go hungry and of them, 857,150 are children.
This April, Bishop Jakes and T.D. Jakes Ministries are not only going to equip leaders and pastors at IP&L but will also provide a practical way by which attendees can be a blessing to a very real need through United MegaCare’s Hunger Project.
What is a Hunger Project? It’s where you can volunteer one hour of your time to pack nutritious meals that will help us meet our goal of feeding 100,000 families right here in Tampa. Jesus said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ So, while you will receive great teaching at IP&L, won’t you also give, by volunteering an hour to help pack 100,000 meals? Also, if you’re from the Tampa area, we invite you to be our guest on April 24th to help pack nutritious meals for families. All you need to do is sign up as a volunteer today at: bit.ly/IPLandUMC
